I believe war can be likened to a fire extinguisher. It is a necessary tool that must be used to fight the evils of this world but it also has the potential to cause more damage than the problem it was trying to solve. Like a fire extinguisher, war is dangerous if used prematurely or in the wrong situation. Declaring war on a government for not agreeing with its ideals for instance creates a much larger conflict than peaceful negotiations. However, if this government begins to exercise a worldwide empirical plan like Hitler’s Nazis, then a national problem becomes a worldwide problem. Although a large majority of people believe in a similar spectrum of ideas on how governments should work in relation to people, it is not the best decision to immediately start conflicts with powerful forces. Unless countries are actively terrorizing people in the world and all last resorts have been explored, war should be avoided. Otherwise, however, nations will simply be overrun if they fail to draw a line and fight back.
