Assignment 3 - Beppy Badgett - Different World, Same State

One of the most meaningful trips I've been on was a mission trip to south eastern Kentucky last summer. I have traveled to different parts of Europe and Canada but, Bell County Kentucky seemed the most foreign to me. We went to help a family by finishing a much needed addition to their small one bedroom trailer. When we first got there, I was astonished by the amount of poverty around me. This family had no clean water, a toilet that would not flush, and one bedroom for two adults and three young children. Despite all this the were some of the kindest most giving people I have ever met. The mother would drive two hours to the closest Walmart to buy water and snacks for us while we were working, and the children were so friendly and very eager to help us complete their new room. They had so little but they gave us so much. This trip has inspired me to work on putting others need before my own and has made me very grateful for everything I have.
