Assignment 2 - Ethan Scott - The Need to Read

Throughout my entire childhood and teenage life reading has never been able to peak my interest. I understand the importance of reading and its ability to improve the mind and lead people to interesting new ideas but I've never really gotten it. I still read books every now and then about topics I enjoy or when it's part of a school assignment. Two books that I really enjoyed from the past 12 months have been The Great Gatsby and Labyrinth of Evil. The Great Gatsby is one of the only books I've been required to read for school that I've thoroughly enjoyed. It's unique story and thought-provoking themes were really able to grab my attention unlike other books I've had to read for school. Labyrinth of Evil is a book from the now non-canonical Star Wars extended universe. I really enjoyed this book because of how in depth it goes into elements of Star Wars that are not part of the movies even though Lucasfilm made the poor decision to rid of the Star Wars extended universe.
