Matthew Klee Assignment 14

My typical Thanksgiving involves a TON of my family. All this family is on my dad's side because my mom's side is all dead or not talking to us because they're legit crazy. My great-grandmother is still kicking it up in Cynthiana (near Cincinnatti) (my dad's grandma) and she, for as long as I can remember, has hosted Thanksgiving lunch. My immediate family is the only family from my dad's side that has moved away from Cynthiana and live in Lexington, so we're really the only ones that have to drive anywhere, its about a 1-2 hour drive. My great-grandma lives in a pretty tiny house on a massive hill on probably 4-5 acres of land. We all park in a horrible maze-like structure in her driveway because all my extended family drives like the country people they are and park horribly. But, they all make pretty delicious (but unhealthy) food. Most everyone brings a dish whether it be a dessert or the main food item to help out my great-grandma since she's pushing 95, however, she most definitely still makes the majority of the food feeding (with extra food remaining) at least 30-40 people. Her house is always nice and toasty and has many folding tables and chairs set up across the various living rooms to accommodate the large crowd. To begin our dinner we say a prayer and then line up towards the kitchen. Everyone sits in their little family cliques to gossip with each other about other people's lives and once the eating finishes everyone hangs out and mingles. Overall, my family's Thanksgiving kind of stinks because none of my cousins are my age and therefore I have nothing to talk with them about because no, I don't go shooting in my backyard after a hard days work on the farm, I come home watch Netflix and go hang out with my friends (because unlike them who live 10 miles apart from their neighbor, I can walk to my friend's house).
