Assignment 14 - Jordan Grady - Family, Friends, and Lots of Food

Family, friends, and lots of food. When I think of my typical Thanksgiving, those few words summarize it pretty well. My Thanksgiving is a family affair - grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins all flood together and catch up on life. My family is spread across the country, so this time of year is a special occasion in which we all come together. I really enjoy this aspect of the holiday, and the large assortment of food is a bonus. Turkey, too many side dishes to name, and pies and cakes aplenty, who wouldn’t enjoy it? It’s the time of year when it is finally socially acceptable to start listening to Christmas music, so you would typically hear Mariah Carey’s Christmas classics playing from the speakers as we play cards, watch football, and eat. The only two downsides to Thanksgiving would have to be all of the leftovers - one person can only handle so much turkey - and the awkward school period between Thanksgiving and winter break where my motivation is teetering. Otherwise, Thanksgiving is one of my favorite times of year, bringing family together and indulging in enough food to feed a small army.
