Good, but not great - Assignment 14 - Rob Gilligan
Let me begin by saying I do like Thanksgiving. It provides a great chance to catch up with family, and enjoy a good meal. However, the holiday may be one of the most over rated. I have heard some claim it rivals Christmas as the top holiday. This is blasphemy. For Thanksgiving I travel up to Ohio to visit with my large extended family. With twenty cousins, the gathering usually exceeds forty people. I love visiting with them, but It isn't anything special. We do lots of fun things on the farm, and have lunch and dinner together. The meals are also not as good as many claim. My preferred meal would be a steak, or perhaps breakfast for dinner. Turkey and mashed potatoes simply do not compare. The corresponding break from school should also be longer. Students only get to miss three days of school, which seem to zoom by. Before you know it, you are back in school wondering where the break went. Thanksgiving is an average holiday, nothing more, and nothing less.
