This year, in my 6th period AP Lang class I sit next to Andrea and Sam. I've never really spoken to Andrea before this year. She's cousins with one of my best friends, Will, but we've somehow managed to not talk until now. I know she is half Honduran, funny, and a delightful neighbor. To my left sits Sam, who I've kind of known for a while. He used to be on my rec soccer team, but I don't remember him well. Getting to know him again has been somewhat a pleasure. I know he's a total nerd, with his interests including video games, fantasy novels, and board games like Dungeons and Dragons. He's also on the school's League of Legends team and in marching band. His sarcastic tone is slightly grating, but mostly entertaining.
While these neighbors aren't the ones I would have chosen, sitting next to them has been a welcome change from my usual friends. I have sat next to neither of them before, and I wish I had gotten to know them sooner. Knowing them would have made sitting in home room much less boring (they have both been in my homeroom).
