Zombie attack

Assuming that I've got a bit of time I'd try to get out of the city as fast as I can, probably out to Berea where we have some friends with a fairly self-sufficient house (solar power, wood furnace, rain capture and purification for water). On the way, I would try to get to a Lowes/HomeDepot and collect lumber, supplies, and hopefully a generator. Once there I would set up as many protections as I could, for zombies and the people who didn't get shelter. Once I had built some protections, the next step would obviously be to collect additional supplies. Hopefully, on the way out of the county, I had brought some food and water, but more would obviously be needed. So I would take a trip into Berea to gather rations. A vital point of my plan would be to avoid going too far into the city that way I can escape easily. For the long term though I would attempt to acquire some kind of ham radio to try and contact other survivors and hopefully some kind of remaining civilization and if I found none, I would try to get as many people as I could to join me and try to set up some kind of settlement that way everyone could benefit from each other's mutual protection and resources.
