Assignment 14 - Averi Ricks - Turkey Day
For Thanksgiving, we always go to my grandmother's house for dinner. There's always A TON of food. Like, seriously. I usually only eat about half of the different types of food that are prepared. My grandmother and uncle prepare the main dishes and everyone else prepares the sides. Pretty much all of my family that lives in or near Lexington goes to my grandmother's house. This goes from my 6 month old cousin to my 7 year old niece to my 93 year old great uncle (not to flex or anything but he served in both WWII and the Vietnam War and is still kicking). It's a pretty big family which is why there's so much food. I somewhat enjoy it, although it's kinda boring. All of my cousins are babies and my older sister is now at the point of wanting to talk to the adults more than to me so I usually just watch football or get on my phone and talk to people when they talk to me (I know, I know, leave me alone I'm too young to be in their conversations and they only ask me about school so there's not much to talk about anyway). I don't have any specific memories from past years, but this year my 93 year old great uncle was in a wheelchair for the first time so that was sad because we all want him to make it to 100.
