I don’t usually think about advice I’m given, but a piece of advice I can think of that I actually care about is my dad telling me in a coffee shop while we were waiting in line. It was that “no one cares about you.” He didn’t mean this as a way of saying that nobody likes me or that nobody cares about my well-being but rather that if I’m in a room full of people, no one cares what I’m doing so there's no need to be nervous about being myself. I think about this pretty often whenever I’m out in public. It usually just helps to get out of my comfort zone because nobody cares about what I’m doing, they only care about what they're doing. It’s a pretty eye opening thing when you realize that being nervous to do something is completely irrational and nobody really cares about what you do.
