Assignment 17 - Little Women - Averi Ricks
Over the break I saw Little Women and I really liked it. Before I went to see it I didn't look up an overview of it or anything so I had literally no idea what it was about and I pretty confused in the beginning but it was my fault so that's okay. It kept switching between the present and the past and it was kinda playing catch up to the end because the end of the movie was in the present. I really like when movies switch between time tenses to explain the plot because to me it keeps you engaged because you have to pay attention to the timelines to follow along. SPOILER ALERTS. Okay so in the beginning the main character is trying to sell her story which I understood was the actual book and at the end she does sell it but I haven't read the book so I was confused as to how the actual book went like in the book is she also trying to sell the story? Or was that just in the movie? I tried asking multiple people because they've read the book but they didn't understand what I was asking (understandable, I don't know how to phrase the question) so the only way I'll find out is to read the actual book but, I know I'm not gonna do that so I guess I'll never know. I also didn't love the ending because the main character ends up with a person that doesn't have a huge role in the movie because the guy she was supposed to end up with fell in love with her sister because whenever he loved the main character the main character didn't love him but her little sister did and then by the end of the movie the main character realizes she's in love with him but then she finds out he's already engaged to her sister so then she goes after some guy she didn't really like but he liked her. I know that didn't make sense, but what I'm trying to say is that in my opinion, the relationship between the main character and the guy she ends up with wasn't developed enough for her to decide last minute she loves him. So yeah overall I really liked the movie it was just confusing for me at times but I get confused a lot so I can't blame that on the movie.
