Assignment 19- Sam Ederington

The greatest piece of advice I have ever received is to fake confidence. I often have no idea what I'm doing, but I know that if I appear to do it confidently, people won't question it. And a good deal of the time, its just doing something that helps the most with accomplishing tasks. Not only that, been eventually you get good enough to fake yourself out. Band auditions have gotten so much easier, not because I am less nervous, but because I can tell myself I'm not nervous. Playing confidently in band, even on hard, technical areas, not only shows me exactly what I need to work on, but makes my mistakes sound more akin to accidents, and my other section members raise their level to support me. Unfortunately, the easiest way I can develop that confidence is through arrogance, which is part of the reason I can appear so prideful at times.
