1917. Not only was it an incredible war film but it was a film about brotherhood, sacrifice, and perseverance. Going into the movie I had heard many great things about not only the story but the incredible cinematography as well so I knew to expect a good film but it turned out much better than I expected. From beginning to end the suspense of the characters creeping through corridors and Schofield running from Germans, Sam Mendez captivated my attention and left me wholly invested in the plot. If I had to choose my favorite moment from the movie it would easily be the the moving rendition of Wayfaring Stranger as Schofield finally found the Devons, this scene gave me chills and an emotional experience unlike any other a movie has given me before. Overall this movie was one of the best I have seen in years and left me in awe multiple times.
