I have one piece of advice that I like to think is pretty helpful. Don’t impose your political views on other people and don’t talk about politics in general. While I sometimes break my own code, it is still good to follow. In my opinion, nothing good comes from talking about politics in general unless you are a politician. People will believe what they believe and it is very rare for them to change their opinion just because you regurgitated something Ben Shapiro or Barack Obama said. This piece of advice is especially important for your friends. I would like to believe that most of my friends don’t know what my political stances are. I like it this way. Politics impedes friendships and the last thing I want is to argue with someone over abortion when neither of us could even have an abortion. You may want to argue with people about stuff you don’t even get to vote on, and that’s okay. But think about it long enough so that you know whether or not you care enough to yell at a person when you could just be chilling there.
