Assignment 17- Katelyn Rowell 17- Frozen II

Often times sequels never come close to being as good as the original. However, after seeing Frozen II, I can confidently say that there are exceptions to this rule. Not only did this movie have fantastic and powerful songs, but it also had amazing messages for the kids watching it. When everything in Anna’s life seemed to be falling apart towards the end of the movie, she picked herself up. While I was watching this part of the film, I was anticipating Kristoff to find Anna in the cave and step in to save the day. However, I was so happy to see that the writers of the film had Anna fight through this moment by herself. She sang the song “The Next Right Thing” which shows her strength as she fights through her pain and grief. Later on, she runs into Kristoff, and he says something along the lines of “I’m here, what do you need?” He doesn’t push her to the side and take over. He supports her as she leads the way. This is such an amazing message for little girls everywhere, and I’m so happy Disney was able to deliver it. On top of this message, the film is filled with beautiful songs and animations that make it just as good, if not better, than the original.
