Assignment 19 - Thanks, Dad - Jordan Grady

One of the best pieces of advice I’ve received was from my dad. I’ve always been a planner. From a young age, I found myself planning out my future - where I’d go to college, what career path I’d take, even what my house would look like. Despite all of this, as I’ve matured and my interests have changed, it has been worrisome coming to the realization that no amount of planning in the world will prepare you for the course you will end up taking. While discussing this realization and my fears of college, the future, etcetera, my dad explained to me that no matter what the decisions are, they’re yours, and you have to make the best out of them. In other words, tread lightly, yet don’t be overly cautious because regardless, everything will sort itself out. Keeping this in mind, it’s easier to leave the future in the hands of fate, knowing that worrying about making missteps will only prevent me from making the right ones.
