Assignment 6- Katelyn Rowell- I Miss AP Psych

Last year I took AP Psychology, and I can easily say that it’s one of the best classes I’ve ever taken. Ever since my early middle school years, I’ve been obsessed with psychology. Throughout the summer leading up to 7th grade, I watched video after video of John Green’s Crash Course on psychology. Given my love for the subject, I wasn’t surprised at how much I loved the class. One of the awesome things about psychology is that you can easily apply the content to the real world. We were able to learn about mental disorders, such as Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), and understand the chemical processes in the brain behind it. Not only did we learn about these disorders, but we also learned about a variety of other topics, ranging from the best parenting styles to the best studying strategies. We were even able to compare the different effects depressants, stimulants, hallucinogens, and opiates had on the brain. In other words, this class allowed me to see the science behind real-world subjects that we hear about every day.
